ED LITTLE
Ed Little is a professional
artist and expert oil painter, an Associate Living Master Artists' Renewal Center,
a member of the Portrait Society, and Oil Painters of America.
He obtained his undergraduate
degree in Editorial and Information
Design in 1983, graduating summa cum laude from the prestigious Ravensbourne
College of Art in
London. He obtained his MFA Figurative Painting in 2011 from the Academy of
Art, San Francisco.
His career of
over thirty years has been packed with experiences ranging from designing
Annual Reports for Fortune 100 Companies to painting murals for Eddie Murphy.
He has been commissioned by major corporations such as American Express,
American Home Products, BAT Industries, IBM, Mars, Nabisco, Olin, Pepsi,
Pfizer, Schick, Scholastic and UPS, has worked for some of Americas largest ad
agencies, his work appeared frequently in the Reader’s Digest Magazine, in
magazines such as Omni, Golf Digest, Snow Country, he has painted covers for
books published by Dell, Harper Collins and Macmillan. Edward has completed many private and
institutional portrait commissions, winning awards for his portraiture; he has
created interior mural works for private individuals throughout America and in
Europe and worked with charities such as United Way. Today Ed focusses on creating art for sale
in galleries and online whilst simultaneously accepting specialized private
commissions. His work can be found in galleries in Connecticut, Massachusetts,
New York, Virginia and Wyoming. It also exists in numerous public and private
collections throughout the USA, Canada and Europe.
In addition to his painting Edward is recognized
for his enthusiastic, passionate teaching – he taught Drawing and Art History at Western
Connecticut State University for seventeen years and instructs from his studio
in Litchfield County.
