FAQ's
How should I care for my original Painting?
Oil paintings are incredibly durable, lasting hundreds of years. Do NOT place the painting in direct sunlight and avoid storage in extreme heat or cold. The painting you receive is varnished to further protect the oil color pigments, it does NOT need to be protected behind glass. However caution should be used handling the painting - do NOT push againgst the canvas either from the back or front to avoid cracking the paint surface. The surface of the varnished oil painting can be wiped with a dry cloth to remove dust.
How long will an original oil painting last?
The oil painting technique has been around since the 15th century, first utilized by the Dutch, so oil paintings exist that are 600 plus years old. If the painting was created using stable, non fading oil pigments - as mine are - and is varnished and well treated it can last at least 600 years!
